nestled up high in the hills of brentwood with sweeping views of the city and the pacific ocean, the getty center is truly one of LA’s hidden gems. while it is a museum, its lush gardens are equally inspirational works of art in themselves. complementing the stark, streamlined architectural design of the museum, the gardens are rife with color and diversity. walking through them is also quite the sensory experience, for there is so much to take in yet everything is laid out in precise fashion.
it’s places like this that, for me, have come to epitomize LA more than anything else. a place that’s breathtakingly beautiful in terms of landscape and design. that captures the laidback yet creative aesthetic of the city in a cohesive statement. i feel like there is too much undue attention given to the stereotypes that people know this city by, for the LA that i know and love could not be further from it all.
