this spring, i’m craving polka dots that are more mad men than minnie mouse, ie. grown-up iterations of something more traditionally girly. think full skirts, peplum tops, flowy silk dresses with velvety sashes in midnight blue, and on the far right, a playful take on the polka in a draped and ruched version.
oh, and happy lunar new year everyone! may you have a blessed year ahead with your loved ones, filled with happiness and good health
it rained like crazy in LA today so i slept in till noon (!), caught up on pan am, had thai takeout, snacked on pineapple tarts (which i look forward to every CNY) and stuck to all the traditions this first day…no wearing black, no cleaning the house, no taking out the trash, no washing of hair – funny how some things just stick to you subconsciously when you’re away from home!

I’ve always loved polka dots, they are such a fun piece to own and they never seem to run out of style. I’m loving your red polka-dotted item.
Hope you had a great New Year. We stuck to traditions as well, we stayed past midnight and made sure all the lights in the house were switched on. Hehe
thank you joanne, i haven’t worn it out yet and have been waiting for the right occasion too.
hope u had a great new year too! i love how people still stick to the traditions even when they’re away – i think we appreciate them more when we don’t really pay much attention to them back at home!
