a little piece of brittany.

there’s been alot of food posts here lately but that’s pretty much what i’ve been up to. last night we had dinner at creperie des arts, a quaint little hole-in-the-wall in prinsep street. it’s run by a jolly french couple, and most of its patrons are french, or caucasians who speak french. we were the [...]

sun with moon.

lunched at sun with moon today – we ordered the set lunches and sampled a green tea sponge cake with custard cream and strawberries, a new dessert for spring. it sounds delectable and it sure is, but i wish i wasn’t so stuffed so i coulda enjoyed it more.

bohemian wild child.

marveling at how ms. richie has got that the easy breezy boho chic look down pat.
on a side note…i finally found the perfect classic structured blazer yesterday. this one’s gonna last me a long, long time.

spruce.

tucked away in tanglin road, not too far away from orchard, is this newcomer to the dining scene, spruce – a restaurant, bar and bakery.
after my exams were done i finally got to check out this place last friday with t and we had an amazing dinner, partly due to the fact that we barely [...]

spun sugar slipper.

spotted in Centre Ps while getting my macaron fix there today.

cherry blossoms…

at the uw quad.
are one of my favorite flowers to snap. i suppose it’s their ephemeral nature that makes them all the more precious. i wish i could see them every year.

floral fascinators.

first two hairpieces from twigs and honey, last one from squidsense
florals always catch my eye so i was naturally drawn to these after browsing through here and here. they’re so sweet and delicate, and i’m contemplating getting the last one.
also, i am finally done with exams! thus marks the end of my undergraduate life. i’m sure i’ll [...]

sticky and sweet.

sticky date pudding from tin hill bistro
spooned up every last and sinful bit of this dense, moist and rich confection. the best (and sweetest) sticky date pudding i’ve had here to date.

booties.

i’m on the lookout for a pair of booties since the leather on one of my ankle boots seems to be peeling/wearing out. so i came across these lace-ups recently and i was pleasantly surprised since repetto is more well-known for their ballet flats. it’s quite a basic design but mostly i love the distressed leather, the [...]

chiffon on florals.

seeing quite a bit of fabric flowers around right now…i’m really liking this one for its tones of soft caramel and champagne gold. its manages to be both an ethereal piece and a quirky statement-making one.

a shaft of light.

cape meares, oregon
it’s beautiful even when storm clouds are approaching.
two fat files thick with neatly stapled notes are waiting to be ploughed through. final exams of my undergraduate life in a week and i couldn’t be more unprepared.
stay positive.

soya good.

beancurd tarts, le cafe
whenever there’s a box of these tarts at home, they are devoured at an alarming rate.  and with good reason too. served chilled, it’s the ideal snack to pop when it’s hot out, doesn’t leave a crumbly flaky mess and goes down easy in all its silky smooth glory.

rosy.

random rose bush in west hollywood
it’s been quite a cloudy and rainy sunday, so here’s something to brighten things up.
have a lovely week!

morton’s the steakhouse.

one of my best birthday dinners ever was at morton’s steakhouse a little over a week ago. it had great food, attentive service and a cosy ambience…and of course there was t, who planned everything for that day. to start, we shared a lobster bisque (luxuriously creamy with a hint of alcohol) and broiled sea scallops [...]

the burnt out ends of smoky days.

42nd & 8th.

have a good weekend.

April 1, 2009

a teensy bit better,

bondi beach, still as beautiful in winter.
and a whole lot more alive. i spent alot of time curled up in bed so now i have to make up for it by doing some studying.

ill.

one martin place, sydney.
under the weather again with a bad throat. my immune system is rubbish right now…i thought i was doing okay eating more fruits of late – guess not after all. also, t got me two huge boxes of macarons yesterday…i had a strawberry one and it made me feel better for a bit. [...]
