outside a “mystical” shop along newbury street.
so here’s the customary end of the year stocktaking post. 2008 was more bitter than sweet, it was a trying year for me all throughout and i’m glad i made it through (though not without losing weight which is the last thing i need). it was a year of [...]

influence.
pinning down the essence of fashion is something that eludes me right now, but this i can say with conviction: fashion is defined by the individual, not by trends nor designers. personal style should be an expression of who you are. how you piece together an outfit and how you wear it is what matters, and what [...]

pretty much sums up the weather here this weekend, with humidity thrown in.

wasn’t so bad after all.
the best present i received was undoubtedly a phone call.

december reads.
as always, school vacations are the times when i catch up on my reading. it’s possibly the only period where i can curl up in bed for hours on end thumbing through the pages without paying heed to time. so far the following books have got my attention riveted. they’re finely written and i highly [...]

bah-humbuggering.
white chocolate mocha, cafe on the ave.
christmas is a time to spend with the people you love, and the one person i love so very much isn’t here. so this year doesn’t feel festive, at all. i’m not into jostling with the crowds and it doesn’t help that this year i left my christmas shopping [...]

cute and cuddly.
aww. aren’t these dogs so adorable? i spotted this mother-daughter pair at the uw street fair last april. there was a dog show that i missed, and i also didn’t manage to catch what breed they were. they’re kinda huge, yet positively snuggly. with soft gentle eyes that could make your heart melt.

beecher’s handmade cheese.
if you’re visiting pike place market in seattle, one place you must stop by is beecher’s handmade cheese. their mac and cheese is absolutely fabulous (served piping hot, the perfect comfort food for cold weather), its fresh and creamy, wholesome without being too rich, balanced out neatly by chewy penne pasta. and while you’re enjoying that, you can watch [...]

outside my old apartment
sunset in seattle, even in winter, is the most beautiful sight to behold, and it’s one of the things i looked forward to the most at the end of each day . it didn’t matter which part of the city i was at – there’d always be a breathtaking view anyway.

spa day.
fisherman’s wharf.
a week into the holidays - it doesn’t feel quite like it and time’s flitting much too fast. i’m also having computer woes again. it’s the same old problem – i’ve had my fan replaced twice this year and barely 3 months after i had it changed it’s already making cranky noises:(
on the bright side, looking forward to [...]

peering in windows.
madison avenue.
i stopped by books actually for the first time this afternoon and totally loved it. this little indie bookstore in ann siang hill has a wonderfully curated books selection, and it’s the kind of place you would want to spend a whole afternoon at. it’s full of eclectic touches without looking cluttered, like old typewriters, polaroid cameras, vintage penguin [...]
