this looks somewhat like fall foliage but i took it in spring. i miss seattle’s rare, piercingly blue skies, one of many other things i miss about the city. it’s been sweltering hot in singers lately, and i’m wistfully longing for fall.

it was a midsummer evening last july, and we’d spent a good part of the day wilting on the i-5 (truck with watermelons had flipped, and all the juice had to be cleared off the freeway. so, massive jam). we arrived just in time to catch the sunset.
