i honestly never gave much thought to the original Starbucks logo until i read about the recent debacle over it in the papers last week. the above was taken at pike place, so called the birthplace of the coffee chain – it may be new to many people, but not to those who live(d) in seattle or who have visited the city. while i think the green logo looks much better, i don’t find anything wrong with this either – it’s just something that’s a part of the company’s heritage. and anyway, surely there are other more worthy causes to pursue and things to worry about and find fault with than a topless mermaid?
(on a side note, they make a mean cuppa cinnamon dolce latte and white chocolate mocha – those calling for a boycott of the store don’t know what they’re missing out on!)
