the i-5.

many a time i have taken this route over the freeway - on one of my (long) walks to wallingford and back, or heading for the bus stop to wait for the 44 to ballard, and i love how this captures what i love about seattle – the city and the nature surrounding it. and on a clear day, [...]

April 29, 2008

night falls in new york.

manhattan and beyond, from the empire state building at sunset.
goodnight.

April 29, 2008

peace and quiet.

elliot bay, as seen from the space needle
besieged by heat, dehydration and migraine today (in that order).
but i got through it, and i know somehow that i’ll make it through this.

sweltering.

venice, ca.
it’s one of those hot sunny days thick with humidity and i’m wishing it was windy instead, and that i was chilling on a beach somewhere far away from here.
holed up in my room blasting the a/c and doing work, what a way to spend a sunday.

snow bunny.

sweet, sweet memories of spring snowboarding on mount baker. when i got off the chairlift i was just awed by the breathtaking view of the mountains. and even though i ended up bruised and battered, i absolutely loved every minute of it. carving my way down the somewhat slushy slopes, or making snow angels, face upturned [...]

midweek mayhem

boats on bainbridge, july 07.
longing for some peace around here.

April 20, 2008

a li’l bit of emo.

tonight i’m feeling a little high-strung. it’s just a phase i’m sure and i need to chill. right now i’m longing for those carefree days where i could throw all caution to the wind and live the way i wanted.

pedderzine.

currently loving pedderzine, the magazine produced by on pedder, the hong kong luxury shoes/bags/accessories retailer. the art direction is amazing, completely original and mindblowing. it’s decadence paired with the urban landscape, and ummm (separately) critters, x-rays and illustrations of the human body. i picked up a copy at the boutique this week when i was there, after reading [...]

i spy…

mount rainier in the distance, its shape seemingly mirrored by the qwest stadium.

April 17, 2008

tulips.

i never did make it to the skagit valley, but i did see plenty of these beauties at pike place market.

April 17, 2008

foliage.

spring’s crisp greens on campus.

April 17, 2008

trotters and wings.

last summer in pacific place, seattle.
absolutely adorable.
in honor of rachel the pig, the life-sized bronze piggy bank at pike place market. built to commemorate the market’s 100th anniversary.

usps

love the clean lines of the serif font (and the helpful/friendly people of the usps).

walking the university bridge.

the u bridge marks the start of a picturesque journey downtown, offering pretty views of lake union’s gleaming waters, the cityscape, pricey yachts, the real estate on the hills and the lush greenery. i used to take walks along the bridge in the late afternoon and even some chilly winter nights, and i especially love riding the bus [...]

critter luxe

miu miu’s spring summer campaign has been surprising, fascinating, and going from strength to strength. miuccia prada’s vision and eye for detail is so amazing…this collection is chockfull of covetable items -patent block heels in candy and pastel colors, purses in an array of neon shades, the softest nappa leather handbags, chunky wooden heels with floral designs…i could totally go on. rarely have i been so [...]

cranky

and crampy. need hot tea.

April 13, 2008

double the sunshine.

a post clubbing brunch before heading out to northgate for an afternoon of shopping. panfried goodness. i miss ‘em eggs from trader joe’s – 99 cents for a dozen and they always turned out the fluffiest whites and firmest yolks.

the fremont troll

crushing volkswagon beetles under the bridge on troll ave.

April 12, 2008

university farmer’s market.

saturdays in seattle were a laidback affair for me, even if i didn’t have classes everyday. there was always so many things to do and places to visit i never really ran out of options, and that’s one thing i miss the most about being there. over here, i pretty much laze around the house [...]

April 10, 2008

burrow.

i lovelovelove everything about anthropologie, except maybe their shipping rates. i took this way back in december 06 but it doesn’t look outdated at all. i love how the different patterns blend effortlessly together, the gorgeous overhanging flowers, and how the whole setting just oozes feminity, comfort and relaxation.
and, rather aptly, i’m off to bed [...]

April 6, 2008

the late afternoon light.

bean and bagel, a quirky little coffee joint in the u district.
it’s way too hot here, with humidity permeating the air to boot. i’m feeling a li’l sticky and very much sluggish. this weekend i’ve caught up on sleep (afternoon naps!) but still have plenty of catching up with the tv to do.

April 5, 2008

the road home.

a road well trodden, and a sight i miss dearly.

April 4, 2008

les amis.

i love poring through old photos, and partly one of the reasons why i love doing so is because i notice things that i haven’t before, even when i am taking the photo.
this time round, i only just realized the orla kiely bags in the window! i snapped this last march when the brand was [...]

dairy inspiration.

i did, briefly, toy with the idea of purchasing these cute wellies from the pike place dairy last winter, but i soon rationalized it’s probably one of those things that look adorable on display, not when you wear them.
